In this issue of „Studia Prawnicze” we publish articles that result from presentations given at the scientific conference called 20 years have passed as one day? Legal aspects of Poland’s membership in the European Union – 20 years after accession (Warsaw, 15 April 2024), which was organised at the Institute of Law Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences and the Faculty of Law and Administration, at the University of Warsaw with the patronage of the Representative Office of the European Commission in Warsaw, Poland and Wydawnictwo C.H.Beck.
The issue opens with a paper concerning the impact that acceding to the EU has had on the quality of governance in Poland (J. Truszczyński). The subsequent articles include: impact of Poland’s enlargement in 2004 on the institutional reforms of the European Union (J. Barcz), one of the Member States testing the Treaties framework of the EU (R. Grzeszczak), and Poland’s participation in the proceedings before the General Court of European Union (K. Kowalik-Bańczyk). The reader will also find in this issue articles concerning the impact of Poland’s accession on the law-making and the application of law, including patent law (H. Żakowska-Henzler), judicial cooperation in criminal matters (A. Sołtysińska), company law (E. Skibińska) and competition rules (M. Modzelewska de Raad).
