Jedną z form reglamentacji działalności gospodarczej jest uzyskanie licencji na prowadzenie takiej działalności. Autor artykułu przybliża czytelnikom charakter prawny tej instytucji. Przedstawia licencje zawodowej jako akty kwalifikujące administracji publicznej, akty autonomiczne, jako akty związane z formami reglamentacji administracyjnej, formy reglamentacji działalności gospodarczej, decyzje administracyjne oraz jako dokumenty urzędowe. Rozważania autora na temat charakteru prawnego tej instytucji wzbogacone są licznymi przykładami z obecnie obowiązujących aktów prawnych.
