Abstract
Citizen participation covers all areas of activity of the state apparatus. The author of this article presents the issue of the participation of citizens in the execution of public administration tasks from a legal and comparative perspective. In view of the ever-increasing complexity of public administration tasks, maintaining and developing citizen participation in the execution of these is a growing challenge. Citizens act either obligatorily or voluntarily in the execution of public administration tasks. This participation may consist, among other things, in making decisions that administrative bodies must implement; shared decision-making, expressing opinions, and exercising social control over administration. The author concludes that the extent of citizen participation in the execution of tasks of public administration tasks is a form of exercise of civic rights by the public.
