Abstract

The unregistered system of conveyancing differs significantly from the real estate law in Poland, in which land and mortgage registers play a leading role. It should be noted, however, that with the establishment of the entire territory of England and Wales as an area of compulsory registration and the institution of first registration, as time goes by, the unregistered system will lose importance to the registered land system, which is more similar to the Polish system. Nonetheless, at present, the unregistered system of conveyancing continues to play an important role in England and Wales, and its principles are an important part of the knowledge of professionals involved in the real estate market there.
