Abstrakt

Autor artykułu przedstawia problem zagrożenia przestępczością z perspektywy międzynarodowej. Opisuje rolę mediów (serwisów informacyjnych, raportów, filmów dokumentalnych oraz czasopism) w informowaniu społeczeństwa o zagrożeniach wskazując jednocześnie na częste przypadki zniekształceń informacji. Opisuje stopień ryzyka wiktymizacji w kontekście międzynarodowym, jej ryzyko w Polsce, w Niemczech w porównaniu do USA, Japonii oraz Szwajcarii. Ponadto autor przedstawia przejawy i rozwój zagrożenia przestępczością przytaczając rodzaje przestępstw, grupy ofiar oraz stara się scharakteryzować przyczyny zagrożenia. Ponadto opisuje zjawisko strachu przed przestępczością, jego nasilenie, przyczyny oraz konsekwencje.
